Group Life at C3
At Columbia Community Church (C3), we believe that life is best done together! Groups are one of the best ways to meet new friends, grow in your relationship with God, and have fun!
Groups start each season
Group sessions run three times a year each season, with breaks for Christmas, Easter, and Summer. It works very similar to a college course schedule and so we call these time periods, “semesters”. We want every group to experience ON RAMPS each semester, so don’t worry about being BRAND NEW – some if not all of the folks in your group are new too!
OPEN ENROLLMENT Period
Registration for groups are only available during the OPEN ENROLLMENT period. We emphasize these natural ON RAMP semesters during the following launch seasons:
- Fall Groups: Mid-September through early October.
- Winter Groups: January following the New Year break.
- Spring Groups: Late March to Early April, following the Easter break.
- Summer Groups: Mid-June following school closures.
If it is the middle of the current semester you will only have to wait a short time, 3-7 weeks, before the next ON RAMP begins.

You’ll find 4 types of groups at C3
Type1 | Activity Groups
This type of group connects around fun activities and recreation. Whether sports, hobbies, or weekly game nights, this group ! We might use sermon notes or simple relationship building to grow our spiritual life. These groups are a great place to get to know people and never have any homework.
Type 2 | Sermon Based Discussion Groups
This type of group connects using the weekly sermon notes for conversation, relationship building, and spiritual growth. These groups do not have any homework.
Type 3 | Learning Groups
This type of group connects around the desire to learn more. Using video or other curriculum we discuss relevant topics or specific parts of the Bible. These groups may or may not have homework.
Type 4 | Outreach Groups
This type of group is involved in a regular or specific short- term outreach like mission trips and care events.
How To Connect With A Group:
During OPEN ENROLLMENT finding a community group that best matches your needs is easy. For at least 4 weeks we will provide a group exploration period to help you determine which group to join. As part of this process, you may also mark your connection card or meet a Group Coach at our Group information zone at the information counter. During CLOSED ENROLLMENT, the semester period, occurring before and after OPEN Enrollment, we pool inquiries for reminders in the next semester open enrollment period.
